If you’re ready to treat yourself to a batch of these irresistible cookies. Let’s get started!

Ingredients:

You will need a few basic ingredients to make a batch of matcha crinkle cookies.

  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 ½ cup plain flour
  • 4 tsp matcha powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/8 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • Powdered Sugar

Here’s how to make matcha crinkle cookies:

  1. Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, matcha powder, and baking powder. Whisk well until everything is well combined. For the matcha powder, I used Gotcha Matcha premium grade matcha.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Add melted butter and eggs into the dry mixture. Whisk vigorously until the ingredients are thoroughly combined, creating a smooth cookie dough. Make sure there are no lumps
  3. Chill the Dough: Form the dough into balls and place them in the freezer for approximately 2 hours. This step ensures the cookies maintain their shape and create that crinkled texture
  4. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 355°F (180°C) to prepare for baking.
  5. Roll and Coat: Remove the chilled matcha balls from the freezer. Take one ball at a time and lightly roll it in granulated sugar. Then, roll the ball in icing sugar, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  6. Bake the cookies: Place the coated balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  7. Cool and Enjoy: Once baked, allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack. Their soft, crumbly texture and rich matcha flavor make them a delightful treat.
