Warning! This easy-to-make dog-friendly recipe can make your chimken-loving pooch extremely excited and happy!
My dogs absolutely adore chicken, and as a foodie dog mum, I’m always on the lookout for creative ways to elevate their dining experience. This wholesome three-ingredient oatmeal-crusted chicken is a dog-friendly recipe that’s simple and delicious.
Ingredients you will need for this dog-friendly recipe:
- 1 cup of oatmeal
- 1 egg
- 1/2 lb chicken breast
Benefits of the Ingredients:
- Oatmeal is packed with fiber and promotes a healthy digestive system for your pooch.
- Eggs are rich in protein that contributes to muscle development and supports a strong immune system in dogs.
- Chicken Breast is a lean protein source that aids in maintaining muscle mass and provides essential nutrients.
A reminder when cooking this dog-friendly recipe:
It’s important to remember that while these ingredients can offer benefits, they should be used in moderation and as part of a balanced diet.
Additionally, individual dogs may have specific dietary requirements or sensitivities, so it’s a good idea to consult your veterinarian before making significant changes to your dog’s diet or introducing new ingredients, especially if your dog has any underlying health concerns.
How to cook oatmeal-crusted chicken tenders:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Dip the chicken into the beaten egg
- Generously coat each piece with rolled oats.
- Place the chicken tenders on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 45 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
I served these chicken tenders in a bento box with kibbles. After topping the kibbles with the oatmeal-crusted chicken tenders, I also added two scoops of plain, unseasoned mashed potato balls topped with fresh mozzarella pearls mashed with blueberries. For the sides, I gave my pups, two sandwich cookies– one is vanilla-flavored, the other is carob-peanut butter-flavored.
The moment I gave my dogs their bento boxes (with the oatmeal-crusted chicken as the star of the show), the excitement in their eyes was unmistakable. My golden retriever and cattle dog eat really fast, but with these baked chicken tenders they finished up their meal in record time!
It’s just truly heartwarming to see how a simple homemade meal can bring so much joy to these happy tails. If you’re looking to add something special to their everyday kibble, give this recipe a try and watch as they enjoy their wholesome and tasty dining experience.
